The Leadership Accelerator will bring together teams of three professionals from 20 cities around the world. These 20 teams will connect globally through the remainder of 2022 to advance their abilities to deliver safe, playful streets for kids in their cities.

Select program participants will be eligible for project implementation grants of up to $20,000 USD to support local projects.

 

What will you gain from this program?

  • You will learn best practices and design strategies to redesign urban streets through the lens of children and caregivers. This includes information about designing for road safety and for play, learning, and beauty.
  • You will be eligible to apply for up to $20,000 USD in implementation funding for a child-focused street design project in your city. 
  • You will have an opportunity to develop stronger connections locally and with others around the globe who share a passion for improving the lives of children and their caregivers.

 

Who is eligible for the Accelerator?

The Accelerator is designed for teams of three people from the same city, representing an interdisciplinary of city government departments and other organizations. We will select 20 groups, each from a different city. 

 

Topics covered in this program will include:

  • Understanding childrens’ and caregivers’ needs
  • Creating safe and accessible pedestrian infrastructure
  • Creating safe and accessible cycling infrastructure
  • Exploring sustainable transportation options
  • Engaging kids in project development 
  • Implementing projects
  • Understanding metrics, evaluation, and communications
  • Scaling impact

 

DEADLINE EXTENDED TO FRIDAY, MARCH 18 at 5 pm EST.  

We will be hosting two question and answer sessions for prospective applicants on March 2nd at 6A EST (11A CET)  and 10A EST to accommodate different time zones. Please register to attend.
