Streets for Kids Launches Two New Publications
GDCI marks this World Children's Day with the release of two new booklets, “How to Engage Kids in Street Design” and “How to Evaluate Street Transformations Near Schools.”
Janette Sadik-Khan, Principal, Bloomberg Associates, and Chair, NACTO, shall unveil a preview to the upcoming Global Street Design Guide at the CityLab Conference in London to be held from the 18th -20th October. She will be showcasing the Guide at the ‘Changing Streets, Changing the World’ session on the 20th of October. The unveiling will be accompanied by a conversation with Jan Gehl, Founding Partner, Gehl Architects and a discussion with Alfred Vanderpuije, Mayor, Accra, Ghana and Mochamad Ridwan Kamil, Mayor, Bandung, Indonesia.

In 2023, ten cities across four continents started designing their streets for kids. Collectively, the cohort reclaimed over 40,000 SqM of public space that prioritizes children and caregivers, engaged over 4,000 children in the process, and trained 140 practitioners.
