On November 1, 2, and 3 we hosted three webinars about the Bloomberg Initiative for Cycling Infrastructure (BICI). These sessions provided an overview of the program, who’s eligible, the application process, and gave city leaders an opportunity to ask questions.
The recordings of all three webinars are now available. All three sessions presented the same information, but answered different questions during the Q&A. The November 1 webinar has subtitles available in Portuguese and Spanish. The November 2 webinar has subtitles available in Arabic and French. And the November 3 webinar has subtitles available in Hindi and Mandarin. GDCI marks this World Children's Day with the release of two new booklets, “How to Engage Kids in Street Design” and “How to Evaluate Street Transformations Near Schools.”
In 2023, ten cities across four continents started designing their streets for kids. Collectively, the cohort reclaimed over 40,000 SqM of public space that prioritizes children and caregivers, engaged over 4,000 children in the process, and trained 140 practitioners.
